Our Story

Like many life-changing journeys, the story of Millie Lorraine began during a time of hardship. After years as a stay-at-home mom and volunteer, I found myself at a crossroads when our family lost its primary source of income. Faced with the need to return to the workforce, I struggled to find a path that aligned with my passions and my desire to serve others. Seeking guidance, I turned to God, asking, “Where do You want me? What do I truly enjoy doing?”

The answer came slowly, through reflection and prayer. I knew I loved hospitality—caring for others, creating warmth, and making people feel valued. But how could I turn that passion into a way to support my family? One day, while sitting at work, I watched homemade Christmas treats being passed around, and it hit me: I wanted to use my love for cooking to care for others. But doubts crept in. Would this dream be enough? Could I provide for my family while offering something meaningful to my community?

I began to see a need: busy families, single individuals, and professionals all looking for delicious, wholesome meals at a fair price. I prayed for clarity, fearing that this idea might just be another one of my big, unorthodox dreams. But step by step, doors began to open. I realized I needed education and training to turn this vision into reality, so I considered culinary school—a daunting thought at my stage of life.

It was then that my middle daughter, Emily, became part of the journey. At the time, Emily had taken over meal prep for our family, and when I asked if she would join me, her initial response was, “No, that would be so weird, Mom.” But after some thought (and a lot of prayer), she changed her mind. Together, we enrolled in culinary school, trusting God to provide a way. And He did. Every challenge we faced—financial, personal, and professional—He opened doors, and we knew we were on the right path.

Through culinary school, working in the field, and honing our skills, we kept praying and seeking direction. Now, as we start this next chapter with Millie Lorraine, I still ask myself: “Will this be successful? Is this where I’m meant to serve?” I don’t have all the answers, but I’m committed to working hard, staying open to God’s guidance, and continuing to grow. My goals are simple: to provide for my family, to offer our community an affordable option for fresh, healthy meals, to give back by providing meals to those in need, and to create a legacy that my family can carry forward.

The Heart Behind Our Name

When I envisioned this business, I immediately knew it had to have a name that reflected the spirit of hospitality I wanted to share. That’s why I chose Millie Lorraine, inspired by my beloved Maw-Maw, who embodied everything I hope to bring to our clients.

My Maw-Maw, grew up during the Depression and faced countless challenges with resilience and grace. She survived polio as a child, married her high school sweetheart, raised 4 children, including a precious daughter with Down syndrome and lost twins at birth. As a Navy wife, she managed her household alone while my Paw-Paw served in WWII. Despite having little, she gave so much—with a thankful heart and a genuine love for others.

Maw-Maw had a gift for making everyone feel special. Whether through her home-cooked meals, her warm smile, or her ability to turn even the simplest moments into cherished memories, she showed what true hospitality looks like. She welcomed everyone into her home with kindness, generosity, and love, and her legacy is the foundation of everything we do at Millie Lorraine.

What We Believe

At Millie Lorraine, we are more than a catering and meals-to-go company—we are a team with a genuine desire to make people feel welcome, cared for, and valued. We believe hospitality is about more than just providing a service; it’s about going above and beyond to create a memorable experience.

Our mission is to serve our community with kindness, warmth, and generosity. Whether it’s personalizing menus, delivering seamless service, or simply making each client feel heard and appreciated, we aim to show God’s love through our actions. We hold onto the words of Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

With every meal we prepare and every event we serve, our goal is to create meaningful connections and leave a lasting impact. We hope to honor God, our family, and the spirit of hospitality that inspired Millie Lorraine.

Let us share this passion with you—through food, care, and a commitment to making every moment special.
